1 takes the ball out of bounds after the opposition has scored. 2 is at the free throw line, 4 is in the backcourt on the inbound passer's right side, 5 is at midcourt, and 3 is away from the play on the inbounders left side.
After the score, 1 picks up the ball and steps out of bounds. As she does so, 2 moves up and blindscreens 1's defender on 1's right side. 1 then runs to the right with the ball, attempting to run his defender into 2. If contact is made, 2 attempts to draw the step in foul by falling down. At the same time, 5 sets a blind screen on 4's defender, rolls to the sideline, takes a pass from 1, and calls timeout.
This play gives a team three chances in the last five seconds: (A) they may draw the step-in foul; (B) 4 may be open for the long pass; and (C) if nothing happens, the timeout is called with the ball almost at midcourt.
