1
2 and 3 are high enough that there are passing angles from 1. 1 passes to 2, 4 cuts to the ballside sidepost, 5 moves out to the short corner.
Option - 1 first passes to 3 who returns the pass after faking a pass to 4. If the defence denies the return pass to 1, 4 steps out to the short corner.
Variations
- 4 moves to a midpost position, between top and bottom defenders in the zone
- 4 plays on the post line (see Maryland women)
- 5 starts at the high post, 4 and 5 x-cut on the pass to 2.

2
2 passes to 5, basket cuts and moves to the weakside wing, 1 and 3 rotate behind. 4 basket cuts to a weakside low post rebounding position. 5 looks to pass to 2, 4, or 1.
Option - 4 basket cuts but returns to a ballside position (see Blue zone attack).
Variation - 2 does not basket cut on the pass to 5 (see Canada Basketball, or High/Low).

3
On ball reversal to 2, 5 cuts to the middle then sidepost, 4 posts up then moves out to the short corner. Note the 3-out-2-in set until 2 gets the ball, possibly creating a 3-on-2 out front, and allowing 3 to dribble penetrate from the top.
If the pass to 1 is denied, 1 can move back towards halfcourt, or screen away for 3.
Option - 5 cuts up when 3 gets the ball.

Variations
- 3 screens for 1
- 1 and 3 exchange with no screening.

5
4 and 5 x-cut on ball reversal from 2 to 3 to 1. 2 should wait until 4 is established in the short corner before reversing the ball, and fake a pass to 4.

- 2 cuts to other corner on ball reversal, 4 moves out on the wing to exchange positions.
