4 attackers with defender X1 on O1. Start with on-ball defence, then
a) as O1 passes to O2, X1 jumps with the ball into a deny or gap position,
b) as O2 passes to O3, X1 jumps to a help position,
c) as O3 passes to O4, X1 sinks in the lane to maintain a flat-triangle help position.

Option - X1 passes to O1, closes out.

Variations

- replace O2 with coach
- O2 has the ball to start, O1 cuts to the block and back (deny the cutter)
- O2 dribble penetrates (help or stunt, recover)
- O2 passes to O1 (close out)
- O2 takes one or two dribbles (slide)
- O1 basket cuts on a return pass to O2, posts up, spaces back out.

When O4 shoots, X1 goes out to O1 (face to face until contact), boxes out, and chases down the rebound.

Variations

- O4 dribble penetrates (help and recover)
- O4 has the ball, flash cut by O1 (deny)
- O4 skip passes to O1, close out, play is live.
